HISTORY OF BAJA OUTPOST
In May, 1966, owner & proprietor, Leon Fichman, decided to survey the entire Sea of Cortez so that he could make an educated decision where to open a specialized adventure and eco lodge. From that journey, Baja Outpost found its roots in Loreto, Baja California Sur.
Leon began a second journey in June of 1996 to research the best dive sites in the east coast of the Sea of Cortez. Traveling in an 18 foot inflatable boat with another scuba instructor, a portable compressor, and his Labrador Humphrey Bogard, the two dove every island begining North from from San Felipe all the way to Cabo San Lucas.
In December 1996, construction began on the current location of Baja Outpost.
